This year is off to a great start! We have a tons of new fabrics and more on the way, as well as a new product in the works. To go along with our cute new ruffle pants we are now working on cute banded skirts! Those pictures will be up soon and I can't wait to share!!

There are several Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day designs on the Etsy site and the website. There are also some new Easter designs along with the favorites from last year. These designs go perfectly with the ruffle pants for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and even Easter! I love getting lots of use out of my kids clothes, so I have made it so you will too!

If you have visited my Etsy shop or my website you have found out that I am officially on Christmas vacation! I am taking a couple weeks off from new orders so that I can spend quality time with my growing boys. I will be doing a little work while I am not filling orders. There are a couple new items that will be introduced when my shop and website open back up.

I will be updating my website and adding some more items and new fabric choices while the website it down. You can find the fabric choices here. All the fabrics listed here on the blog can be used to make any combination of items. If you would like to make you own sets or order items that are not shown on Etsy or the website then you can e-mail the items you would like and the fabrics you would like used. The I will send you a Paypal invoice.

I will still be replying to e-mails, just not very quickly, so if you have any questions just let me know. My website will probably be back open on the 29th or 30th, but I will post on Facebook and Twitter when it is open. My Etsy shop probably won't be open until January 2nd.

We now offer ruffle pants for girls to match any appliqued tee. These make a super cute outfit for any special occasion, birthday, holiday, pictures or everyday. These are designed to go with many different tees, so you can wear them year round!! Best thing I love about them is that when your little girl grows they can easily become cute capris.

Holiday 2011 Happenings

{Holiday Events}
The first event of the holiday season is this weekend! You can find Oh Sew Cute Designs merchandise at the Merry Martini booth at the Winston Salem Junior League's Bootique Holiday Shopping event. If you live in the area you can check this shopping event out the 27th-29th. There you will find our bibs, burp cloths, and onesies.

Next weekend you can also find our merchandise at the Merry Martini booth at the Junior League of Raleigh's Shopping Spree. This event is from November 3rd-6th at the the Raleigh Convention Center. There you will be able to find our bibs, burp cloths, and onesies.

Then on November 10th you can stop by the Merry Martini in Durham for a holiday preview party! There I will be set up will some of all my items.

At all of these events you can find Thanksgiving Turkeys and Christmas apparel!

After Thanksgiving there will be one last shopping event, the Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe in Cary, NC. This event is from Thursday November 30th (preview party) through December 3rd. There I will have a booth with all of my items and some new ones!

{Holiday Closing Dates}
Now for a few important holiday dates. I will be CLOSED the week of Thanksgiving, November 20th-November 27th. My sites will be open on November 28th for a one day only Cyber Monday Sale!

I will then be CLOSED the rest of the week to prepare and be at the Cary Academy Holiday Shoppe, so if you are local come out and do some fabulous Christmas shopping! My sites will all be opening back up on Saturday night December 3rd.

Christmas closing date will probably be December 17th, but I'm not certain on that yet and I haven't decided for how long. I will definitely be back open January 2nd!

{Delivery Dates}
For Thanksgiving delivery please make sure you purchase by November 15th! To guarantee Christmas delivery please purchase by December 13th. It should only take 3-5 days, but with holiday volume you never know!

Hopefully soon I will be moving this domain to my newest website! This site will still be used as a blog to keep you updated on all the latest news.

Today I have been working on the new website, trying to get all my goodies up so that purchasing will be even easier! This website will let you use Credit Cards or Paypal. It will direct you to Paypal to pay, but if you would like to use your credit card, and not Paypal, there is a place to enter the credit card of your choice.

Right now I am working on getting all the main items up will the fabric choices being the ones that I have large quanities of. I do still have lots of fabrics and I am still working on getting all my items up on the new site. Vacation and Summer Hours

This year has started off to be a busy one! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! There will be a few changes in my hours that I work and upcoming vacations that I would like for you to know about.

In May I will be away from my computer and my shops will be closed from Wednesday, May 11th until Thursday, May 19th. Any orders placed before then will be completed as normal and the last ones shipped out on May 13th.

For the summer, starting June 10th I will have all three kids home until the end of August. Therefore my times that I can sew and return e-mails will vary from day to day. Weekdays I will be able to return e-mails periodically throughout the day and most sewing will be done at night. My turnaround time will also be around 4-5 days, unless you purchase something that is already made. If you are going to need to something sooner, please contact me BEFORE you purchase to find out if that can be done.

This fall I will have a more normal work schedule, yay!! Look for those hours to be posted at the end of the summer. Thank you so much for your business and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

New Website

I have a new website that I am testing out. This is one where you can order from the website and pay with credit card or Paypal! It will direct you to pay with Paypal, but you do not have to have a Paypal account, that is just how the transaction is completed. If all goes well then that one will be my new .com and this site will still be used, but as my blog.

Check it out and let me know what you think! It will take me a little bit to get more items up, but this will ultimately save me money meaning that I don't have to go up on my prices. Yay!! With some of the sites I use there are a lot of fees! I am trying to find the best site with the lowest costs, so that my prices can stay low. St. Patrick's and Easter Appliques

I have just finished with some new spring and summer appliques. To go with these new appliques are some new short sleeved tees. I have a jersey knit, very soft, for boys or girls. There is also a cap sleeved tee for girls, these run a little small. For your baby and toddler, there are lap tees.

There is a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day. The two green fabrics that I have is a green dot and a green damask. Perfect for you little St. Patty's cutie!

Easter is not until April, but it is never too soon to go ahead and get something cute to wear to all the egg hunts and festivities! For Easter I have a cross design, I will have a boyish one posted later. These can be done in any fabric that you see in my shop.

A chocolate bunny with pink dots and a pink bow, a boy one is also coming in this design too!

I am working on some eggs and some flowers, so stay tuned!!

Since coming back from a nice vacation I have been working very hard on some cute designs for the up coming Valentine's Day. These are the ones that are listed in my Etsy shop right now. The Thanksgiving turkey tees have been a huge success!!! Thank you to everyone who bought one and I hope they are being enjoyed!! Appliqued Letters and Numbers

Also available are appliqued letter initials and numbers for birthdays! I currently have two different style fonts. In those two fonts, there are lowercase and uppercase letters as well as numbers. I have smaller sized letters that look cute on burp cloths and bibs.

Appliqued Onesie Designs

I am so excited to introduce appliqued onesies with these cool new designs!! Right now I have a super cute little mans tie, an elephant and a cute fall pumpkin. I will be adding more very soon!

These can be made out of any of the fabrics that I have They are ironed on and sewn around the edges for added durability. You can check out my current fabrics, to the left is the link, those I definitely have, but if you see something in my Etsy or Artfire shops just let me know and I probably have enough fabric to make it.

They are made with very soft Carter brand onesies. You can get any size that Carter's makes newborn, 3 m, 6 m, 9 m, 12 m, 18 m, and 24 month.

I am working on getting tee shirts, so hopefully I will have those soon. Right now if you want an tee I can get them in the Hanes brand. The sizes are 2T, 3T, 4T and 6-8 youth or if you need a bigger size let me know. These seem to run a little small.

Featured Item: Burp Cloths and Bibs

This week I chose burp cloths and bibs because, they have been the most useful to me and still are! Burp cloths were the first item that I started making. My twins spit up what appeared to be their entire feeding! The only thing that worked were cloth diapers. The only problem was that they were plain, white, and not cute. I decided to do something to them to make it not so bad that my babies spit up all the time. The cute fabric down the middle does add some much needed cuteness to spit up attire! These are made with the birdseye cloth diapers by Gerber. I have tried both the 6 ply and birdseye and as a mom who does use them I really feel that the birdseye works best. It also fits very nice and compact in the diaper bag.

The burp cloths can be purchased in sets of two or three. They can also be purchased in a set with a matching or coordinating bib. The bibs were one of the next items I began make. After having friends request bibs with snaps, so that their babies would leave the bibs on, I thought that sounded like a great idea. It is hard to find bibs with snaps. All bibs are made with high quality chenille backing. It is soft, cute and very absorbent! My baby was a spitter also and these bibs helped add cuteness when his cute outfits had to be covered with bibs. They also can not be removed by baby! I have had several customers return for more bibs for their toddlers because, they were able to pull off all bibs but mine! These really are great for a long time, from about 3 months to toddlers.

To celebrate our three year anniversary all burp cloth sets of two are now $12.00 and sets of three are $16! Prices are already adjusted in my Artfire Studio and will be completely done in my Etsy shop soon. If you would like a custom order just contact me.

Bibs are 3 for $25! When all three are purchased you will get a refund or I can send you a revised invoice.

Feature Item--Sippy Straps

I decided to start highlighting one product every week. Sometimes it will just be more information about an old product and some weeks it may be a new product and some weeks it may be an item that is on sale. I hope you enjoy!

It was hard to decide which item would go first, so I decided to go with the last new baby item I have started making (also one of my favorites!). The Sippy Strap!

This really have been invaluable to me especially when I go for a run or we are out to eat at a restaurant. Who wants their baby's sippy cup or bottle to land on the ground or floor of a public place? YUCK! This will prevent that from happening! Unlike many sippy cup strap holders this one is made with one piece of elastic ribbon. There is a 3 1/2" loop at one end, it will fit around any sippy cup or bottle (even works on the tall narrow Dr. Browns). You just stretch and fit it on. If your sippy cup or snack cup (which it will also be handy for) has handles that go all the way down, just wrap the looped end around the handle and then slide the clipped end through. No snaps or Velcro to wear out.

The other end has a suspender clip that will clip on to any strap or if there is no strap, like on a restaurant highchair, you just loop it around the side and clip it to itself. I have one of these on my baby's chair at home and one in the diaper bag for when we are out and about!

Upcoming Events...

I am so excited about the events we will be at this month! We will have a booth at two upcoming events in Raleigh. This weekend, July 17th, we will be at the Designers Downtown Market. It is located outside at 509 N. West St, near Glenwood South. If you are looking for some good shopping and yummy lunch come out! It lasts from 9am-3pm.

In two weeks we will be at Raleigh Wide Open in downtown Raleigh. This is the first time I will be doing this event and I am so looking forward to it. It sounds like a lot of fun! It lasts until 11pm, but my booth will be set up from 9am-4pm. If you live in the Raleigh area, I highly recommend checking this out.

There are more ribbons to choose from, like there needed to be anymore! Just can't resist cute ribbon. There are several new nautical and beach themed ribbons for the keychains. The soccer one can be backed with any of the different colored webbing to match your teams colors! If you don't see your teams colors in the webbing selection just e-mail me and I will be glad to order some, please allow at least a week for the order of a colored webbing that is not shown. I have also added a lacrosse keychain, it has become very popular around where we live.

Several new ribbons for pacifiers, these can also be used for key chains. I just love the skunk that says, Lil Stinker and the raccoon that says, Makin Mischief! My little guy is definitely going to be needed the Makin Mischief one. I have some very cute girly stripes and dots. I love the pinks and greens!

June is flying by! The pacifier clip special will continue into July, but probably not August. So if you want to take advantage of this great day you have one more month. I got some lacrosse, soccer, and skulls for the key fobs and some really cute little skunk that says, "Little Stinker" and raccoon that says, "Making Mischief". They are really cute! I just finished making about 50 retractable badge holders! I love making these! They are in preparation for the Designers Downtown Market in Raleigh this Saturday, May 8th. If you live in the area come out and get some cute Mother's Day or Teacher Gifts or gifts for anyone special in your life. The ones I have left after Saturday will be in my Artfire and/or Etsy shops. I will also be working on some more.

These are great for anyone that uses a badge, health care, schools, etc. I so wish when I taught I had something this cute for my badge and keys. You can clip these to pockets, belts, lanyards, or whatever.

Retractable Badge ID Holders

These are great if you or someone you know works in a profession where you have to wear an ID or have key handy. I so wish I had this when I taught! My delivery room nurse had her ID on one and I couldn't stop staring at it!

They are made with a covered button, covered with designer fabric. I can put a one letter monogram on them as well, I just don't have any made yet. It is 1.5" in diameter.

The back is a belt clip and can slide onto your pocket, belt, lanyard or wherever you need to put it. The retractable cord extends up to 26".

Baby Food Jar Travel Holder

Yesterday morning while packing the diaper bag for church I decided I was tired of having to use a Ziploc bag to put the baby food and spoon in. I had one of those plastic cases from when my twins were babies that was suppose to hold two jars and a spoon, but I guess jars are bigger now because they don't fit and it is so big in the diaper bag. I decided to head to the workroom and try and figure out how I could make something to hold the jars and spoons.

This is what I came up with. The outside is designer cotton, the middle layer is 2 layers of cushioning batting and the inside is designer laminate cotton. The laminate cotton makes it easy to wipe clean. There is a Velcro closure. This will hold two stage 2 or 1 jars of baby food. I need to try it with the plastic containers and the stage 3. The stage 3 jars may fit if they lay down. I need to pick up a stage 3 and see. This is still in the testing phase, but so far I am loving this bag. It fits so nicely in the diaper bag. It doesn't take up much room and the batting or cushion really helps protest the jars. I can not promise that if dropped it won't break, but it will keep them safe in the bag under normal conditions. This bag is not a cooler. It is just a way to carry the jars while on an outing. The spoon I used to test it was a Take N Toss, because that is what I use while out.

Hopefully in a couple weeks I will have some more made and in my Etsy and ArtFire shops. I am also going to try and have a few made to have on hand at the Designers Downtown Market that I will have a booth at on May 8th in Raleigh, NC.

Nice fit with the Diapers and Wipers Holder and a nursing cover rolled up in there.

Sippy Strap

I have been thinking about making these for sometime, but never quite made myself do it. Then my 7 month old began a fun game of toss the sippy cup, so I went to my workroom to see what I could do about it. I researched some of the options that were out there and didn't really like all the buckle and fastners on other straps. I had some elastic ribbon left over from another project, so I took a handful of different cups in the workroom and worked out the perfect sized loop. Then added a suspender clip, like the pacifier clips use, because I love how easy that is to just snap on to stuff.

The loop should fit most any brand sippy or bottle, if you have a question about yours just let me know as we have about every brand. It is about a 31/2" loop and is 16" long. *Please do not leave your children unattended with this product.

Oh Sew Cute Designs will be at the Designers Downtown Market in Raleigh, NC on May 8th. It will take place outside in two parking lots in Glenwood South area, 509 West St. It runs from 9am-3pm. The weather is sure to be nice, but if it rains it will take place the next day on May 9th (let's hope it doesn't rain though). I will have lots of hair clips, ponytail holders. magnets, and of course all my regular cute baby items that I sell online. Makeovers

I decided it was time for a little makeover to a couple of my products. I have been doing a new decorative stitch on my blankets, it is a cute wave, and wanted to try it out on my bibs. Well I did and I think it looks so cute! I am now trying it out on my burp cloths and will probably be changing the stitching on those as well. Right now the stitch is a cute zigzag and some bibs that are already made do still have the zigzag. I am only changing because I have discovered this stitch on my machine and am in love with it. I think the wave is super cute and I hope you think so too!

I have also began to heat seal the ends of the ribbon on my pacifier clips. I have noticed that in the past if one little edge sticks out and something catches it, then it was fraying a little bit. I do not like that at all. So I am heat sealing all ribbon ends and that should prevent any fraying of the edges. There are no chemicals on the ribbon, just heat. They will be made the exact same way, but before sewing I will seal the ends. You will also notice that starting now and in the future I will not be putting labels on the pacifier clips. These were suppose to be fray proof labels, but with the amount of wear and tear that some pacifier clips endure then they will fray. I like everything to look clean and crisp. Therefore I will not be putting labels on them, but if you love your clip then please pass the word along.

Ribbon Blankets are Back!

The every popular ribbon blankets are back! I am so excited to be able to offer these again! They were taken down and revamped. These new blankets or loveys DO NOT have ribbon loops. They have different textured ribbons, to help with tactile development. The ribbons are heat sealed at the ends, so that they will not unravel. There are no chemicals on the ends of these ribbons. They are quadruple stitched and are tested. They are now perfect for your little one to play with and are the perfect size for the car seat or stroller.

Mother's Day Coming...

Mother's Day is only a month away from today, May 9th! Have you thought about what to get the mom in your life? I have some great ideas that are just for mom.

Key chain fobs are perfect for any mom on the go and of course moms always have their hands full. They can just slide one of these on their wrist and go.

Nursing covers are also wonderful for the nursing mom. They make it so easy and comfortable when you have to nurse while out. The strap goes around the neck to keep it up so that the baby won't pull it off. They also roll up nice and compactly for the diaper bag.

Diapers and wipers bags are a nice touch for moms that don't like to carry a lot. These hold a few diapers and wipes, but can also fit a small changing pad or burp cloth in there.

Best of all the must have item...Car Seat Arm Pad! This is wonderful and I am speaking from experience. I have an 18lb 6 month old and this makes it much easier to carry him in his infant carrier. They are made with a nice cushion of 1" thick foam and covered in cute designer cotton or minky fabric. These are definitely a hot item and you will not find a better deal on them.

Comfy car seat strap covers are great gifts or great for jazzing up your car seat or stroller. These are great for when baby spits up, you can just take it off and wash it instead of having messy car seat straps. They are machine washable. Gentle cycle is recommended.

New Keychain Fob Designs!

I am now making my keychain fobs out of fabric! I will still be making them out of the ribbon, but now you have the option to choose your favorite fabric or match it up for a super cute gift set!

Nursing Covers!

Nursing Covers

These are great for nursing moms that want to nurse and keep covered. They have an adjustable strap that fits around mommy's neck, that way baby can't pull it off when they get bigger. The adjuster is made with a D ring and is positioned for easy adjustments.

There is also boning located in the neck line so that mommy can peak in at baby. It is about 12" long.

The size of the blankets are about 22" long x 34" wide.

Bib Clip!

New Product---Bib Clips!!

I have now started making bib clips. These are perfect for the diaper bag when you are out and need a bib, but don't want to put that messy thing back in your bag and don't want to waste money on disposable bibs. They are perfect for infants through toddler/preschool aged because they are ADJUSTABLE!

This one is made out of a 5/8" ribbon in Jelly Bean dots. You will be able to find it in my Etsy shop very soon along with other colors!

The clear plastic clips attach to anything handy, paper towel, napkin, burp cloth, etc.
This one is shown on a burp cloth.

First off, here are my new labels that go with my wonderful new logo! These labels will be on all products. They will either be sewn on flat like this and I have some cute folded ones to use too!

New Happenings!

Here is a little update on what I have been working on:

Nursing Covers! I have made one nursing cover, so far and it is in the testing period. If you are interested in one of those in one of the many fabrics I have then keep checking back. I will probably start selling those towards the end of the summer. I think my starting price for these will be $15.00. They will be one layer of cotton, so that your baby and you do not get all sweaty, with a piece of boning for easy peaking at baby. It will also have an adjustable strap with cute buckle.

Keychain Fobs!

Keychain Wristlet Fobs

These are the best! I have one and love it! It is so great for when your hands are full or for running the kids into school, groceries, gym and you have no pockets for your keys.

The loop is about4 1/2"- 5" and will comfortably slide on, but will not fall off.

They are made with either a ribbon or fabric of your choice.

These are great gifts for mommies, a girlfriend, a teacher, or anyone else on your mind.

Also, the are only $5!

Fabric Stock Update!

Here are some new fabrics and replacement fabrics. There are a few that I am all out of and the items in my Etsy shop are all I have left, the Mod Girls--Pink and Green Paisley, White with pink paisley in snuggle flannel, and the blue gingham. There are also a few I am running very low on and will only reorder if it is a request, so if you are interested in something then please e-mail me and find out if I currently have it or need to reorder. It is no problem to reorder, but it will take an extra week to get your items.

I am out of the Michael Miller brown with pink dots in cotton and the place I buy from is also out of stock. However, I am able to get it in a flannel and I have it in a laminate. I was able to find one very similar in a lighter pink dot.

Alexander Henry Surfing Safari

Alexander Henry Apples and Pears--This is my FAVORITE!

Heather Ross Pet Fish--This one has been discontinued, but I have a lot of it. It is really very soft cotton, probably the softest I have. It also goes with the set in the Spring '08 link with the orange, blue, white stripes and dots. These are all very soft. I have a set of the three in my Etsy shop and I am working on bibs and blankets.

Diapers and Wipers Bag

This is probably one of my favorite items. It can easily hold at least 4 diapers and a huge pack of wipes. Works out wonderful when you need to switch bags often or just need to grab a few diapers and wipes for the car or your purse!

Price is $10

Size -- 10" long when closed and 14" long when open, 7" wide.

The closure is made with a snap. That means no more velcro sticking to other things in your bag or running out of stick!

There is also a ribbon loop that will be added to the flap for easy opening.

They will all be made with a coordinating colored fabric in the inside. If you have a preference for the lining please let me know, if not I will choose something that matches.

There is room for a wipes case a couple diapers or a matching burp cloth.

Organized Fabrics!

I have organized my fabrics that are in the Spring '08 Fabrics. I did some much needed inventory this afternoon and found some that I thought I had run out of and had some that I am running low on.

The fabrics are now in categories of designer or type of fabric. I have some on there that I left out earlier and some have been removed because I only have enough for a couple of items. The left over fabric that I can't get more of you can find on burp cloths or whatever I can make with what is left in my Etsy store. Everything else posted I have enough of or can easily order more.

Spring '08 Fabrics

This is the beginning of my twice a year fabric lines.

Here are the new Spring fabrics. I will not be adding any more new fabric until the end of summer beginning of fall.

These will all be up in my Etsy shop very soon, but if you need it before you see it then let me know.

The colors are much brighter than they appear on here.

I will of course always do special requests, so if there is something you want and it is not there then please let me know.

Nursing Pillow Covers!

These will probably all be made with a little different fabric. Some cotton, some flannel, some minky, some with the same fabric, some with coordinating fabrics.

This one is made with two coordinating fabrics by Michael Miller. It fits a standard Boppy brand nursing pillow.

The back closes with two snaps.

Burp Cloths

My first and most favorite item is the Burp Set! These are very thick and absorbent. Perfect for anyone with a spitter! They are a 19" x 14" 6 ply premium cloth diaper dressed up with a strip of designer fabric down the middle. They are topstitiched with a very cute wavey stitch.

They are very absorbent and very cute to take with you where ever you need to go!
